Intisari-Online.com – Praktik reward and punishment tak selalu efektif digunakan untuk mendidik anak. Justru praktik negosiasi dengan anak yang bisa membuat mereka sadar akan konsekuensi dari segala hal yang mereka lakukan.

Hal ini diutarakan oleh psikolog Dr Rose Mini, APM, Psi, ketika menjadi salah satu pembicara pada seminar pendidikan dengan peserta para guru yang digelar oleh PT Tupperware Indonesia dengan tema “Aku Anak Sehat”, Sabtu (10/5) di Jakarta Barat.

“Belum tentu anak melakukan salah, mungkin saja instruksi atau perkataan yang diucapkan orangtua atau gurunya memang tidak jelas dan tidak dimengerti oleh si anak. Maka, cara komunikasinya yang harus dibetulkan,“ paparnya.

Pada dasarnya, kata psikolog yang kerap disapa Bunda Romi ini, anak ibarat kertas putih yang kemudian akan ditulisi oleh pengalaman-pengalaman yang ia alami dari orang-orang atau lingkungan sekitarnya.

“Anak adalah peniru ulung. Jadi kalau ada anak nakal, misalnya, orangtuanya di rumah seperti apa? Mereka mengajari dan mendidik anaknya bagaimana? Orangtuanya bersikap atau memberi contoh seperti apa? Nah, begitu pula di sekolah. Belum tentu si anak itu bodoh dalam mengikuti pelajaran di kelas. Bisa jadi gurunya memang tidak memberi penjelasan yang tak dipahami si anak,” papar Bunda Romi.

Untuk itu, Bunda Romi memberi saran kepada para orangtua dan khususnya para guru di sekolah, agar bernegosiasi dengan anak untuk memberikan penjelasan yang konkrit kepada anak-anak, terutama usia balita dan sekolah dasar.

“Sebab di usia ini, anak masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam pola pikirnya, atau masih sederhana. Masih belum bisa diberi penjelasan panjang lebar, melainkan harus diberi contoh konkrit dan rasional. Misalnya, jika si anak harus belajar hidup sehat, berikan contohnya mengapa ia harus makan sayur, dan menggunting kukunya, misalnya.“

Jika memang anak melakukan kesalahan, Bunda Romi mengatakan, idealnya orangtua maupun guru mengajarkan konsep konsekuensi ketimbang memberikan reward  (hadiah) dan punishment (hukuman) .

“Di dalam konsekuensi, ada negosiasi dengan anak. Artinya, orangtua atau guru perlu menyosialisasikan dulu ke pada anak, misalnya jika ia tidak mengerjakan PR akan apa? Jika ia tidak mandi akan apa?” papar Bunda Romi lagi.

Dengan demikian, katanya, anak jadi tahu kalau melanggar aturan tersebut akan menyadari konsekuensinya. Sementara dalam reward  and punishment, si anak tidak punya kesempatan bernegosiasi. Sebab memberi hadiah dan hukuman sifatnya hanya searah, dari orangtua atau guru ke anak

Boleh-boleh saja sih memberi “hadiah” kepada anak, tetapi sebaiknya tidak melulu berupa barang yang akan membuat anak manja dan ketergantungan pada hadiah. Melainkan, lanjut Bunda Romi, beri anak pujian, pelukan, atau ciuman sayang saat ia berhasil melakukan sesuatu dengan memuaskan. (Intan Y. Septiani/tabloidnova.com)

Benarkah lelaki berpikir soal seks setiap tujuh detik? Tidak! Temuan baru menunjukkan bahwa lelaki tidak "sejorok" itu. Bahkan tak hanya seks di kepala mereka.

Rerata memikirkan seks oleh lelaki dewasa adalah 18 kali sehari, dibandingkan dengan wanita yang 10 kali. Namun lelaki juga berpikir soal makanan dan tidur dalam angka yang sebanding.

"Dengan kata lain, tak ada yang spesial tentang pikiran soal seks," ujar salah satu peneliti Terri Fischer, ahli ilmu jiwa di The Ohio State University, Mansfield pada LiveScience. "Pria berpikir lebih banyak soal hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan kesehatan dibandingkan dengan wanita, tak hanya soal seks."

Pernyataan bahwa lelaki berpikir soal seks setiap tujuh detik adalah mitos semata, kata Fisher. Dasar pernyataan itu adalah penelitian-penelitian terhadap lelaki dan perempuan yang ditanya soal seberapa banyak mereka memikirkan seks setiap hari pada hari-hari seminggu yang sudah lewat. Menurut Fsiher, hasil penelitian dengan metode mengingat-ingat itu tidak memberikan hasil yang dapat diandalkan.

Fisher dan koleganya menanyai 163 mahasiswi dan 120 mahasiswa beberapa hal yang berkaitan dengan kesehatan agar tidak bias hanya melulu soal seks. Beberapa temuan ternyata berbeda dengan pendapat yang beredar di masyarakat umum. Misalnya saja, ada pendapat laki-laki berpikir tentang seks lebih ajeg, sementara wanita jarang memikirkan hal itu. Hasil temuan Fisher ternyata ada rentang yang jauh dari responden pria soal berapa kali sehari mereka memikirkan seks. "Beberapa responden ditemukan sekali sehari, sementara ada yang sampai 388 kali per hari," kata Fisher yang menjelaskan bahwa responden hanya perlu memencet tombol mesin penghitung saat ia memikirkan soal seks.

Mengacu ke angka 388 tadi, jika dikurangi dengan waktu tidur, bisa diperoleh memikirkan soal seks setiap 158 detik sekali. Nah, masih jauh dari angka tujuh detik 'kan?

Temuan menarik lainnya ternyata pria pun memikirkan makanan dan waktu tidur yang sebanding dengan pikiran soal seks. Ini pun mematahkan pendapat umum yang mengaitkan wanita dengan makanan.

Toh Fisher mengakui ada beberapa kelemahan dalam penelitiannya. Misalnya saja kenyataan bahwa orang cenderung untuk tidak mengisolasi pikiran mereka. Responden juga terbatas pada kalangan mahasiswa meski Fisher sedang melakukan penelitian dengan responden berusia 25 tahun ke atas. Begitu juga apakah pikiran masing-masing individu adalah gagasan yang melintas dalam pikiran atau sebuah fantasi seksual selama 10 menit.

This is where I see a lot of people online make a common mistake.

A lot of people will discover a product online and think
they will make a great deal of money ‘simply’ by promoting it.

But what happens?

Very very quickly – most discover that it is not as easy as it seems.

Why?

Because most people do not know HOW to ACTUALLY promote a product.

Which brings me to the point of this week’s SUCCESS GRENADE…

I want you to FORGET about what product(s) you want to sell (for now).

Instead – we are going to tap into a little secret that all successful marketers like to keep relatively quiet.

QUESTION: Do you know how the MAJORITY of people make REGULAR money online?

ANSWER: They sell direct to their own list.

Read that again!! And think about it.

They sell to people who are ALREADY on their list.

And how do they have their own list? These marketers work
hard to capture our details when we visit their website in the first place.

The Money Is In The List.

These savvy marketers spend time and energy building their list – and thenEVERY TIME they have a product, they bang out an email to this list. And because they have spent time cultivating and building a relationship with their list… sales ALWAYS follow. Literally — EVERY time.

This method has been proven time and time again as so much
easier – than trying to sell ‘cold’ to a first-time visitor to your site.

The money really is in the list.

I see many newcomers to this business make the same mistake. They mistakenly
believe that simply having a product online (as good as the product may be) will result in sales.

That may have been the case 5/6/7 years ago – but not now.

The Number #1 Mistake That

The number 1 mistake that most newcomers online make -
is they try to sell a product straight away.

I see so many new to this business trying to SELL
a product direct from their site IMMEDIATELY.

This is very, very difficult .

A lot of newcomers believe that
just HAVING a product on a site is enough.

It isn’t.

5,6,7 years ago maybe — but not now.

A lot of newcomers will get all
excited about having a shiny, sparkly product.

Now I certainly am NOT crushing any
passion or enthusiasm (as that’s vitally important…)

…I am however saying that just having a product – is not enough.

I see COUNTLESS newcomers believe that 
‘all they need is a product online’ (I hear this many times too…)

And this really does sadden me — as when no sales come in
(which invariably is the case) — the initial all important enthusiasm gets slowly chipped away.

Then over the following weeks, it’s goodbye excitement and
hello resentment. The final rampage is usually something like

‘…the web is a con, you can’t make any money…’

Well…the web is not a con.

And you certainly can make great money.

And this is from someone (me) who was COMPLETELY NEW in 2008 .

So….what is the answer….???

….let me tell you.

Nowadays those that are consistently successful online have
to work a bit smarter. Not necessarily harder – but smarter.

And by that I mean…

…they build their own list.

I appreciate that you may not have thought like this yet…

I understand that you are excited to make money online as soon as possible.

However…

….slightly changing your thinking to concentrate (for now) on simply building a list-
will be the one defining element that will separate you from the majority of people who do NOT make money online.

My favorite saying is ‘this business is a marathon – not a sprint’.

You have already come this far.

Now may I suggest you give serious consideration to just waiting
a few more weeks — and instead spend the next few weeks beginning to build your own list.

So to sum up – the three most important elements to your business are:

1. Building Your List.

2. Building Your List. And,

3. Building Your List.

IMPORTANT:

Why Build A List?

So many people new to wanting to make money online
mistakenly believe that just having a website means they are in business.

Wrong.

There is a BIG difference between having a website and having a business.

Sure – you DO need a website.

But…

…there are MILLIONS of websites that make NO money.

Therefore having a website is NOT a business.

And it’s the same for a product.

Tons of people mistakenly believe
that if they have a product – they are in business.

Again…wrong.

Having a product is also NOT a business.

There are hundreds of thousands of
websites that have a product yet make no money.

So – therefore – if having a website is NOT a business -
and having a product is NOT a business….what is?

What IS the key to having a successful online web business?

The answer….

….CUSTOMERS.

Or in other words…

…BUILDING YOUR LIST
