It was a time when literature was its peak, art was at its zenith and the popularity of whatever was made during the period endured and inspired writers, poets and artists for generations to come. The renaissance period gave us great sculptures, paintings, and inevitably – works of literature. Shakespeare was of this period and so were Galileo and Leonardo da Vinci. It was not like ideas were not met with opposition. But much of what was resisted has lasted until this day. Such was the wave that renaissance brought about and we celebrate the literature from this golden period in this issue.
