Positive Thinking Quotes – How Do They Work for the Average Joe
Positive thinking has tremendous power and offers the ability to change your way of life forever. If there is something in your life that feels catastrophically “out of balance”, you’re right. Your life is out of balance. After the end of each work day, do you feel fatigued and depleted? Do you feel like your boyfriend/girlfriend doesn’t appreciate you or that everyday feels like a constant struggle just to “make it?” Your body is constantly sending off messages and at the same time sending back messages to you when things aren’t right. Through self-examination and the desire to improve your current situation, you can transform all aspects of your life that don’t feel right. Positive thinking techniques offers a platform for you to switch your thinking into a more productive one and in turn, you will lock into everything you have ever wanted for yourself. The power is you, and the time in now.“When life gives you lemons, it’s time to make some lemonade!”
Many of us have negative thoughts on auto-pilot. This means that whether we realize it or not, we are sending out many negative messages on a daily basis. We may think negatively when a project we worked hard on was rejected by our boss, our partner had something rude to say to us or our car got a flat tire on the way home from work. No matter what happens to us, our brain sends messages and images that if negative has the ability to create an overall feeling about ourselves. It’s important to examine how we feel about ourselves before we can change our thinking. Are you confident and happy with your achievements? Are you down on yourself from the morning you wake up to the time you go to bed? If your thoughts are mostly negative, the changes are that you are sending out more negativity than you realize in which, it’s time to stop. Stop the negative self-talk, but easier said than done. Take the time to figure out what changes you want in your life, and then move to the next step: changing your thinking patterns. Here’s how to do it effectively.

“All personal breakthroughs begin with a change in belief.”
The first step to changing your negativity is being aware of when you are negative. This is where your patience will be important because transforming negative to positive thoughts can take time, but well worth the time ittakes. When a negative thought enters your head take a minute to accept it. Whether a negative thought pops up as you’re watching TV or daydreaming while in a work meeting, understand and acknowledge it is there, and then replace the negative thought with a positive one. If your negative thought is about your body image, replace it with “I love the body I am in,” or “I appreciate the womanly figure I have and the healthy body I have.” Don’t get down on how many negative thoughts you have but instead, focus on transforming them. This is the only thing that matters.
“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
Consider depending on the power of affirmations as a way to improve positive thinking in your life. For many people who have been in the habit of negative thinking, it can be difficult to all of a sudden “switch gears.” This is completely normal which is when daily affirmations can come in handy. By retraining your brain to think nurturing, loving and supportive thoughts, the way you feel about yourself will change. The way you react to people will change. The way you handle obstacles in your life will improve. Affirmations are another word for thinking creatively and visualizing how you want your life to be. By speaking kindly to yourself and training your brain to think in the most loving, positive way you will begin to see changes quickly. For example, if your boss seems to constantly reject your work, tell yourself: “Success comes effortlessly to my direction,” or “Everything I do turns into success.” Although this may seem strange to do at the beginning, it will soon be a part of your daily routine and will help you to manage your day and the events that follow.Watch Laura Silva explaining how our brain works
